The Corrupt Heart

Act: ACT 4
The Corrupt Heart

Description

The Corrupt Heart is the final boss in *Slay the Spire*, encountered in Act IV. It tests virtually every mechanic you’ve built up: large HP, damage caps, status effects, and scaling buffs. To beat it, you’ll need strong defense, ways to manage or disable its strengths (like Invincible), and careful planning of your turns to survive both status and attack bursts.

Tips

  • Bring strength reduction or damage mitigation (like Weak, Vulnerable, Disarm, or artifact) to minimize both status damage and the big hits.
  • Avoid playing too many cards per turn if Beat of Death is active—each card may cost you damage.
  • Prepare to survive Echo, which deals a large single hit. Effects like Intangible, Buffer, or high block are essential.
  • Don’t waste resources on damage once the Invincible cap is reached; plan to burst when possible.

Trivia

The Corrupt Heart is optional and acts as the ultimate check on deck building, forcing players to balance offense, defense, and status‑management. Its damage cap per turn (Invincible) means you can't simply dump huge damage in one blow. It also reacts to Strength suppression (Strength‑Down), making those cards or relics particularly valuable.
